Cheongpung Land

Cheongpung Land is a multi-tower complex with three facilities including the nation’s highest 62-meter bungee jump board, the ‘Big Swing’ which is Korea’s first-ever ejection seat, etc. And there are other various activity facilities like the nation’s longest cable coaster (zip-wire) at 1.4km crossing Cheongpung Lake.

Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex

It is a small folk village that was restored in 1983 for about 3 years on the site of 16,000 m2 containing a variety of cultural heritages and artifacts that were dispersed in the region from June 1978 to October 1985 until the completion of Chungju Multipurpose Dam as part of the government’s 4 major river comprehensive development plan.

Cheongpung Lake Pleasure Boat

The best course is the 130-ri waterway which is a 1-hour round trip from Cheongpungnaru to Janghoenaru. You can enjoy the view of Gudambong Peak whose oddly shaped rock resemble a turtle, Oksunbong Peak that soars like a bamboo shoot, and Geumsusan Mountain that boasts its beauty while riding the boat.

Jakeun Dongsan

Jakeun Dongsan (545m) is a climbing course which takes about two and a half hours in the back of the Hill House along Geumsusan Mountain ridge. It offers charming scenery and the graceful sight of Cheongpung Lake and Woraksan Mountain as one.

Geumwolbong Peak

Geumwolbong Peak

This is the site of the TV series ‘Jang Gil-san’ where the scene about training for martial arts in Geumgansan Mountain was filmed. It was said that the rock resembles Geumgangsan Mountain with its 12,000 peaks, digging for clay for the manufacture of cement.

Hakhyeon Valley

Hakhyeon Valley

The rocks are a variety of fantastic shapes and old pine trees as if Geumgansan Mountain was moved to create a scenic view with high and steep slopes around the large valley where the Hakyeoncheon stream flows.

Neungkang Sotdae Art Museum

Sotdae is an ancient prayer pole in the form of a duck or bird-shaped figurine on top of it that was placed at the village entrance during the Ancient Joseon period. Free admission and Sotdae making class is available

Bibongsan Mountain Monorail

Bibongsan Mountain (531m) is in the shape of “a brooding bird about to fly in search of food” with 3km long (roundtrip) monorail to the peak. You need to make a reservation beforehand as it has become a famous tourist activity after it appeared on many TV programs.

Jeongbangsa Temple (Eoreumgol Valley)

It is said that Jeongbansa Temple was built in the second year of King Munmu’s reign during the Silla Kingdom (662) on the spot where the stick that Uisangdaesa threw after enlightenment stuck into the ground. You will have the opportunity to forget all the anxieties of the world as you watch over the fantastic views of Cheongpung Lake and the mountains ranges that looks like the profile of the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy sitting on the wooden porch of Jeongbangsa Temple.

Sanyacho Village (Medicinal Herb Life Health)

The traditional colors are reproduced here through the dyeing technique using natural dye extracted from the materials like dirt, woods, or herbs found around the area. Various activities are offered including herbal scent pocket, herbal soap, atopy medicine, handkerchief, natural dye and agritourism.

Jadeurak refers to “a narrow road in the foot of a mountain.” It is a trail of 7 courses that are 58 km long, and look around the warm mountain village together with Cheongpung Lakeshore.

Jecheon 5-day Market

Jecheon 5-day Market

Jecheon 5-day Market opens on the 3rd and 8th of every month. This traditional market that fills up the Jecheon Station area is full of valuable herbs and precious things to see and eat which are not available in the city.

Jayangyeongdang

Established as Changjujeongsa during the 26th reign of King Gojong (1889) but newly established as Jayangyeongdang by the Yurim in 1906, it was where Yu Joong Gyo (1821~1893) who was a Confucian scholar in the latter period of Chosun trained younger generations and U In Seok (1842~1915) had secret meetings with gathering Yurim from the eight provinces of Korea.

Uirimji

Uirimji

Located at Mosan-dong, Jecheon-si, this is a reservoir of about 2km in circumference and 8~13m in depth. It is designated as Scenic Point No. 20 with a long story of Korea which was established first by Ureuk during the reign of King Jinheung of Silla and Park Ui-rim buil it after about 700 years.

Taksajeong

Taksajeong

Taksajeong refers to the pavilion as well as the valley recreation area beneath the pavilion. It was selected as the 9th view among the ten scenic views of Jecheon by Jecheon-si as it is natural and it is the only recreation area where lots of people come for a summer vacation.

Donggang Rafting
